Institution Notes:
The University of Art was formed in 1980 with the amalgamation of the Conservatory of Music, the College of National Music, the College of Decorative Arts, the College of Dramatic Arts, Farabi University and Pardis College in Isfahan. It gained its current name in 1994. Its aim is to train personnel in the arts and culture of Iran, based on Islamic principles. There are two campuses, one in Tehran, the other in Karaj. The main emphasis in the undergraduate program is on music performance.
