Institution Notes:

The Central Queensland University was founded in 1987 and gained its current name and status in 1994. With headquarters in Mackay it has campuses in Brisbane, Bundaberg, Cairns, Emerald, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Townsville and Yeppoon as well as interstate. The Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music was established in 1988 and was incorporated into Central Queensland University in 1996. The Creative and Performing Arts area offers programs in music, theatre, digital media, visual arts and creative industries. There is a school engagement project with high school students to prepare them to enter programs at the University. The Conservatorium Academy offers programs in creative and performing arts for school-aged children. The administration centre in Mackay occupies a purpose-built facility with a state-of-the-art complex that includes a fully-equipped theatre/concert hall, teaching and practice rooms and recording studios.
