It has several buildings in Budapest, including among others, the central building, the György Ligeti building, the Ferenc Liszt Memorial and Research Centre (with the Liszt Museum and Library of Recorded Sound, including recordings of Liszt’s music), the Old Academy of Music on Vörösmarty Street, the former Budapest Teacher Training College of the Academy in Semmelweis Street, the Béla Bartók Secondary Grammar and Technical School of Music (the teaching practice school of the Academy) on Nagymezö Street, and the student dormitory hostel (Béla Bartók Dormitory) on Városliget Avenue. The library’s Liszt Collection includes original manuscripts, copies of scores, letters, documents, photographs, paintings, art objects, press cuttings, instruments and personal objects. A state-of-the-art audio-visual studio provides modern recording facilities, established with assistance from the Japanese government. There is a piano tuning and repair workshop. Preparatory programs are offered for potential applicants to the professional courses. Most classes may be offered in English. The Kodály Institute of the Liszt Academy in Kecskemét also offers comprehensive programs, leading to non-degree awards as well as to BA and MA degrees in Kodály Music Pedagogy. It also organises summer seminars. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
