Institution Notes:
The Queensland University of Technology can trace its history back to 1849. It gained its current name and status in 1989 and in 1990 it amalgamated with the Brisbane College of Advanced Education while still retaining its current title. There are campuses in Kelvin Grove and Caboolture. The Kelvin Grove Urban Village is a unique inner city Brisbane development where a community which includes tertiary education, residential, leisure and business opportunities has been built and where the Music Department is located. The QUT Creative Industries Precinct is a major feature of the new development with purpose-built state-of-the-art studio buildings and equipment.
