Institution Notes:
En Chordais is a non-profit institution, founded in 1993, aims to research, create, perform, publish and disseminate cultural networks in Europe and the Mediterranean. In particular it operates a School of Traditional and Byzantine Music promoting the musical traditions of Greece from a contemporary perspective. It gives training in performing on almost all traditional Greek instruments as well as in theory and history of Greek traditional and ecclesiastical music. It holds a significant archive of its music activities and collections. It also trains chanters to serve in the Greek Orthodox Church. There are performance, dance, rhythm and folk music classes for young people and interested members of the local community.
