Diploma. Six to eight years. Studies include performance (classical, jazz/contemporary, opera), choral and instrumental conducting, Byzantine music, Greek traditional music, theory, composition, music technology. Those aged 16+ who complete the full program become members of the 'Academy of Distinguished Artists' of the Conservatory.
Founded in 1919 by composer Manolis Kalomiris, this is one of the oldest private Conservatories in Greece, with branches throughout the country as well as in Albania and Cyprus. It offers programs in music, dance and drama. There is a partnership with the Schola Cantorum in Paris. The Conservatory organises a 'Conservatory of Young' music school for young musicians aged 6 to 18, and music classes for interested members of the local community..
