Institution Notes:

The University of Wollongong can trace its history back to 1951. It gained its current name and status in 1975. The Faculty of Creative Arts is a multi-disciplined faculty with programs in creative writing, theatre performance, sound composition and production, visual arts, graphic design, new media and journalism. Its Doctor of Creative Arts degree was the first of its kind to be introduced in Australia. The undergraduate major in sound composition and production was introduced in 2002 in response to a perceived demand for tuition in aspects of contemporary music, such as composing for film and television, sound engineering and recording. It has proved to be a popular course, attracting a high demand for the 25-30 available places.
