Bachelor of Arts. Studies in all aspects of Catholic church music. Students may train as organists, choir leaders or as cantors. Studies include performance, vocal and instrumental pedagogy, choral conducting, Gregorian chant, theory, German liturgical song. A program for teaching music at grammar schools is organised through a partnership with the University of Regensburg.

Institution Notes:

The University of Catholic Church Music and Music Education Regensburg was founded in 1874 on the recommendation of Franz Liszt, and is the oldest Catholic music institution in Germany. It is affiliated with the Papal Academy of Church Music in Rome. There is co-operation with the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München for students to obtain a diploma for teaching their instrument. A performance program for talented school-age children and a youth choir allow for further community engagement. A master-class to practise Gregorian chant has been organised for interested members of the local community.
