Details:
Diploma. Two years. Studies in jazz, rock and popular music performance, composition/arranging, jazz theory/harmony, improvisation, aural skills, rhythm studies, music technology and production. Gives the qualification to teach in private music schools. One further year extends the qualification to teach in publicly funded music schools.
Institution Notes:
The School was established in 1974 as the Joe Haider Jazz School, and gained its current title in 1990. It organises workshops and masterclasses in jazz, rock and popular music and issues recordings under the label ‘Egorecords’, in co-operation with Ear Worm, School for Modern and Classical Music. In addition to the diploma program the School operates a system of jazz and popular music classes for children and interested members of the local community.
