Details:
Bachelor of Arts. Three years. Studies in all aspects of theatre performance. There are programs for opera singers (including dance, acting, ensemble singing, stage movement) and courses in music history and theory.
Institution Notes:
This State Academy, founded in 1993, operates from the Prinzregenten Theatre in München which is also the home of the Bavarian State Opera. It is the largest institution for stage professions in Germany, offering programs for singers, actors, directors, stage designers, costumiers and make-up artists. There is active collaboration with the Hochschule für Musik und Theater, which operates the music programs for students, and with the Ludwig Maximilians University, the University of Television and Film and the Academy of Fine Arts.
