The Australian Institute of Music, founded in 1968, is a private higher education provider with campuses located in the heart of Sydney. It offers programs in music performance, composition, sound engineering, arts management and dramatic arts. Facilities include a 300-seat recital hall, a 120-seat theatre, state-of-the-art recording and music production rooms and a well-equipped library. The Australian Institute of Music High School offers special music training with staff from the Australian Institute as well as general subjects leading to the New South Wales Higher School Certificate for years 11 and 12 students. It also caters for those wishing to specialise in drama, dance and visual art. There is a Melbourne campus at 120 King Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000 where the musical theatre program is operating.
