Bachelor of Music. Major study in voice, with emphasis on concert/operatic performance. Studies in acting, stage movement, historical dance, stage dance, study of roles, languages. Other music studies include theory, music history, aural training, harmony, counterpoint, techniques of new music, fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, with vocal wellness awareness, vocal pedagogy.

The Rhenish Opera Academy is a department of the University of Music and Dance in Cologne (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln). It was formerly known as the Opera Studio. Students from the age of 16 with exceptional singing talent may be offered programs parallel with school education and, following completion of general education, may be offered tests for the Bachelor of Music course. Opera course students have regular masterclasses with international opera and concert singers, and study with experienced coaching professionals.
