Bachelor of Arts. Music studies include performance (classical, jazz, contemporary), ensemble groups, choral conducting, improvisation, composition, music history, theory, aural skills, music technology, ethnomusicology, pedagogy. Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary or Primary). Music may be taken as a teaching subject.
Master of Philosophy. In music research.
The College, established in 1897, is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Music studies are conducted by the Conservatorium which was founded in 2013. All studies include core subjects relating to Avondale’s philosophy of Christian education. Music may be taken as a major, a specialisation or a minor. Facilities for music include a digital music laboratory, two studios for large and medium ensembles and teaching and practice studios. The main campus is in Lake Macquarie with a second campus in Sydney.
