Institution Notes:
This University of the Arts can trace its history back to 1873. It was established in 1948 as Musikschule Bremen and gained its current name and status in 1988. The Music Faculty offers programs in classical and jazz performance, early music, church music and music education. There is an Orchestral Academy for those specialising in orchestral training. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
