Institution Notes:
This independent University was founded in 1948. The Institute of Theatre Studies houses the Puccini research centre. Special projects include an edition of the letters and writings of Busoni and the role of theatrical elements on the concert podium in contemporary music. This forms part of an interdisciplinary research project ‘Cultures of Performativity’ (Kulturen des Performativen). There is an Institute for Arts and Media Management. The library holds a significant collection of recordings of traditional music from many places around the world. The Collegium Musicum is one of several performing groups of the University. There are academic programs in some subjects for refugees.
