Diplôme d’études musicales (DEM). A two- to three-year pre-professional program in classical and contemporary performance and associated studies which may include early music, theory, aural skills and composition. Certificate of Musical Studies.


Institution Notes:

This Conservatoire is a public institution offering programs in music, classical and contemporary dance and drama and operates in several locations in the Versailles area. The program is organised in cycles. The first (éveil musical’) four years, the second, four years, the third ('cycle d’orientation professionnelle') and fourth ('cycle d’enseignement supérieur professionnelle'). Historically the Conservatoire is the direct descendant of the École des Pages du Roi in Versailles which trained musicians of the royal court, dating from 1670. There are partnerships with the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and the Center de musique baroque de Versailles.
