Details:
Licence Musicologie or Musique (= Bachelor of Arts). Three years. Studies include performance (classical, jazz), music history, ethnomusicology, aesthetics. Diplôme d’État de professeur de musique (DE). Gives the Licence to teach music in schools. May be taken concurrently with years 2 and 3 of the Bachelor. Diplôme Universitaire de Musiciens Intervenant (DUMI) à l'école préélémentaire et élémentaire. Gives the Licence to teach music in pre-primary and primary schools. May be taken concurrently with years 2 and 3 of the Bachelor.

Master Arts Musique et Musicologie. Two years following the Licence. In performance (classical, opera), musicology, ethnomusicology. Doctorat de Musique et Musicologie.
Institution Notes:
The University can trace its history back to 1408. Formerly known as François Rabelais University of Tours, it gained its current name in 2015. Music and music education programs are taught at the Centre de Formation de Musiciens Intervenants which also owns a gamelan.
