Diplôme d’études musicales (DEM). A two- to three-year pre-professional program in classical and contemporary performance and associated studies which may include early music, theory, aural skills and composition.
This Conservatoire can trace its history back to 1959. It is a public institution offering programs in music, theatre and classical and contemporary dance that was granted its current name and status in 2006. The program is organised in cycles. The first (éveil musical’) four years, the second, four years, the third ('cycle d’orientation professionnelle') and fourth ('cycle d’enseignement supérieur professionnelle'). There is also a program for mentally handicapped young children. In addition to the pre-professional program there are courses for young children and interested members of the local community as well as one for mentally handicapped children. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
