Undergraduate programs

Diplôme national supérieur professionnel de musicien (DNSPM) (= Bachelor of Music). Three years. Studies include performance (classical, jazz, early music), choral conducting, composition, electro-acoustic composition, musicology. Diplôme d’État de professeur de musique (DE). Gives the Licence to teach music in schools. May be taken concurrently with years 2 and 3 of the Bachelor.

Graduate program

Maîtrise de Paris. One year following the Licence. Studies in performance (classical, jazz, early instruments), accompaniment, choral and orchestral conducting, music theatre, music history, theory, analysis, composition, electroacoustic composition, sound engineering.

Other programs

Diplôme d’études musicales (DEM). A two- to three-year pre-professional program in classical and contemporary performance and associated studies which may include early music, theory, aural skills and composition.

The Pôle Supérieur d'Enseignement Artistique, Paris et Boulogne-Billancourt is a public institution offering programs in music, classical and contemporary dance and drama. The headquarters occupies a renovated building - the site of the former home of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. The Pôle employs teachers from the Conservatories (à rayonnement régional) of Paris and of Boulogne-Billancourt and is closely associated with Faculty of Musicology at the University of Paris - Sorbonne Paris IV. Facilities include several fine performance spaces, an organ recital room (Salle Olivier Alain), well-equipped recording studios and a fine library. There are age limits for entry to most programs. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
