Diplôme d’études musicales (DEM). A two- to three-year pre-professional program in classical and contemporary performance and associated studies which may include early music, theory, aural skills and composition.
Institution Notes:
This Conservatoire, founded in 1916, is a public institution offering programs in music, classical and contemporary dance and drama. The program is organised in cycles. The first (éveil musical’) four years, the second, four years, the third ('cycle d’orientation professionnelle') and fourth ('cycle d’enseignement supérieur professionnelle'). There are also programs for interested adults. The Conservatoire occupies a newly-refurbished building. There are close links with the opera company of Nice and with the University. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
