Diplôme d’études musicales (DEM). A two- to three-year pre-professional program in classical and contemporaryn performance and associated studies which may include early music, theory, aural skills and composition.

This Conservatoire, founded in 1872, is a public institution offering programs in music, classical and contemporary dance and drama. The program is organised in cycles. The first (éveil musical’) four years, the second, four years, the third ('cycle d’orientation professionnelle') and fourth ('cycle d’enseignement supérieur professionnelle'). The Conservatoire operates in various locations in the city enabling young people to study music in close proximity to their homes. It organises a youth symphony orchestra. In addition to the pre-professional program the Conservatoire offers music activities to young children and interested members of the local community.
