Diplôme d’études musicales (DEM). A two- to three-year pre-professional program in classical and contemporary performance and associated studies which may include early music, folk music, theory, aural skills and composition.

This Conservatoire, founded in 1803, is a public institution offering programs in music, classical and contemporary dance and drama. It operates in three locations in the city of Limoges. The program is organised in cycles. The first (éveil musical’) four years, the second, four years, the third ('cycle d’orientation professionnelle') and fourth ('cycle d’enseignement supérieur professionnelle'). The music program in the third cycle offers courses in performance on traditional instruments (chabrette limousine, cornemuse, vielle à roue, traditional violin and occitan). There is a department of traditional music.
