Diplôme d’études musicales (DEM). A two- to three-year pre-professional program in classical and contemporary performance and associated studies which may include early music, theory, aural skills and composition.

This Conservatoire, founded in its current form in 1968, is a public institution offering programs in music, classical and contemporary dance and drama. It is a public institution managed by the Community of Agglomeration of Greater Besançon. The program is organised in cycles. The first (éveil musical’) four years, the second, four years, the third ('cycle d’orientation professionnelle') and fourth ('cycle d’enseignement supérieur professionnelle'). There are also programs for interested adults. Facilities include state-of-the-art digital technology units.
