Institution Notes:

The University of Turku was founded in 1920. In the music department the areas of specialisation are Finnish contemporary music, ethnomusicology, jazz and popular music, and women in music. Language of instruction is mainly Finnish, though some courses may use English. No performance training is given. The University is a member of the Åbo-Turku Consortium. Member of the University of the Arctic.
