Institution Notes:

The University can trace its history back to 1813 and was formerly known as the Jyväskylä Polytechnic. The School of Cultural Studies (Music) works in close association with the Jyväskylä Conservatorium (Suomalainen Konservatorio). There is an active opera program. A music play school is organised for babies from the age of three months. Some courses are taught in English. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
