Licenciatura Nacional de Música (=Bachelor). Four years. Studies include performance (classical, popular, bandoneón), composition, choral and instrumental conducting, music technology, music education.
Institution Notes:
First established as the Instituto Nacional Superior de Arts de General Roca in 1984, the Instituto Universitario Patagónico de las Artes was established in its current form in 2015. There are departments of audiovisual arts, visual arts, movement arts, music and drama. The Patagonia Cultural Foundation, a private organisation which provides the location and maintenance for the Instituto, supports a choir, a chamber choir, a children’s choir and a chamber orchestra whose members act as teachers at the Instituto. Scholarships are offered to young people through the Konex Foundation. In addition to the professional program the Department of Music offers music programs to young children and interested adults.
