Tecnológico Musical, Especialidad {Instrumento - Canto] (=Bachelor). Studies include performance (classical, jazz), composition, choral conducting, folklore of Ecuador and Latin America, music education for teaching.

This national conservatorium can trace its history back to 1870. Basic tuition is offered to young people, and advanced tuition for those wishing to move on to professional levels, leading to the titles of Técnico and Tecnológico Musical with specialisation in a particular instrument. Completion of all levels takes 15 semesters. The library holds manuscripts of the music of Ecuadorian composers and a collection of traditional instruments. The conservatorium organises competitions, seminars, master classes and international festivals.
