Diplôme d’études musicales (DEM). A three-year pre-professional program in classical and contemporary performance and associated studies which may include early music, theory, aural skills and composition.
Institution Notes:
The Institut national supérieur d’enseignement artistique Marseille-Méditerranée was created in 2020 from the amalgamation of the École supérieure d’art et de design and the Conservatoire national à rayonnement régional Pierre Barbizet. It can trace its history back to 1821 and is a public institution offering programs in music, dance and drama. The program is organised in cycles. The first (éveil musical’) four years, the second, four years, the third ('cycle d’orientation professionnelle') and fourth ('cycle d’enseignement supérieur professionnelle'). In addition to the pre-professional program the Conservatoire offers music activities for children and interested members of the local community. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
