Bachelor of Fine Arts. Four years: • in Performing Arts (Music). Studies in performance (voice, orchestral instruments, piano, guitar, steel pan), composition, arranging, theory, aural skills, music history, ethnomusicology, music industry. • in Digital Media Arts (Music Technology). Studies include audio recording, electronic music production, media arts, audio-visual literacy, entrepreneurship.

APA Advanced Pan Fellowship Certificate. An intensive twenty-week program of one-to-one and group tuition on steel pan, studies of rhythmic culture in the Trinidad context, history of steelband culture, pan tuning. Fellows are apprenticed to a master artist or expert craftsman within the steelband community.


Institution Notes:

The University was established in 2004 and operates at 12 campuses. The Academy for the Performing Arts (APA) is a multidisciplinary arts school that forms a basic element of the National Academy of the Performing Arts (NAPA). It offers programs in acting, dance, music, theatre design and production, and music technology. The Academy is the home of the PAN Fellowship which offers specialised programs in pan performance, history and other activities. It also organises school outreach programs for primary, secondary and special school students to prepare those interested to enter study at higher levels.
