Details:
Bachelor of Arabic Music. Studies in performance (vocal, instrumental, maqam), composition and arrangement, maqam improvisation, theory and styles of Arabic music, Arabic solfège, history of Western music, sound engineering, pedagogy, choral and instrumental conducting. An arts management project is required. Electives include introduction to jazz, digital music, Palestinian folklore. Offered in collaboration with the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Ramullah.

Birzeit University is a private non-profit organisation that can trace its history back to 1924 as a girls' school. Later it became known as Birzeit College and in 1953 offered its first two-year tertiary programs. The first full Bachelor degree students graduated in 1976. The Faculty of Art, Music and Design was established in 2017 pre-dating the opening of its brand-new purpose-built building in 2019. It offers programs in design, visual art, dance, drama, film and music.
