Institution Notes:

In 2010 the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus amalgamated with the Academy of Music in Aalborg to form the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg with campuses in both cities. It is a state-supported institution operating under the auspices of the Danish Ministry of Culture. There are three main lines of study - classical music, jazz/popular music and electronic music. The Academy has several fine performing spaces and a well-equipped suite of recording studios. It houses a large collection of classical period instruments. Language of instruction is Danish. In 1993 the Danish Institute of Electroacoustic Music became part of the Royal Academy. It is located in the Aarhus Concert Hall. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
