The Society provides training workshops for music educators and students. It also offers lessons to students with special needs.
The MusicArt Society, originally founded in 2009, is a registered non-profit organisation that provides training workshops for music educators and students, drawing upon the expertise of various music educators and professors from such countries as Japan, USA and Australia. It also offers free music lessons to underprivileged children, orphans and students with special needs, and to other students at minimal tuition costs. The Society give free music lessons to students in Panchakanya Secondary School (a government-run public school where most of the underprivileged and orphaned children study) and also organises educational tours and trekking in Nepal, offering the chance for interested persons to learn more about Nepalese traditional, folk, modern and classical music and its culture and heritage. There is a close liaison between the Music Art Society in Kathmandu and the Australian Society for Music Education in Tasmania (Australia).
