Institution Notes:
The university can trace its history back to 1910. The music department was founded in 1981 and has an affiliation with the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. There is a well-equipped electronic music studio and computer music laboratory. The collection of early music instruments includes a Balinese gamelan and a collection of Chinese instruments. The library is building a collection of Chinese traditional music and works by contemporary composers in the East Asian region.
