Bachelor of Arts. A minor in music is offered with studies in piano, voice, choir, Arabic music, Western music theory, aural training, sight singing, music theatre performance.

Sharjah is currently recognised by UNESCO as the Cultural Capital of the Arab World. The American University of Sharjah is a co-educational institution founded in 1997, and accredited in the USA by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Performing Arts Program offers programs in music, acting, costume and scenic design, playwriting and stage management. Festivals of theatre and music are organised for alternate years.
