Institution Notes:

Jan Evangelista Purkyně University (Univerzita Jana Evangelisty Purkyně) was founded in 1991, though it can trace its history back to 1954. The department of music education is the home of several choirs - Cantus Choralis Puelarum (a girls' chamber choir), Chorea Academica (a mixed choir), and NONA (a mixed chamber choir). Language of instruction is Czech.
