Institution Notes:

Founded in 2008, the Agape National Academy of Music is a non-profit organisation aiming to make programs in music and the arts accessible to Liberian young people following the 20 years of civil war. A further aim is to collect and preserve the indigenous tribal music of Liberia. It is affiliated with Artists in Christian Testimony International in Brentwood, Tennessee, USA. Due to the outbreak of the ebola virus in 2014 the Academy was closed, but reopened in the following year with assistance from supporters and friends in the United States of America. Nine-month music programs are offered to children from the ages of 13 and above. There is an early childhood music program for children aged 3 to 12 years. Choirs have been formed, many participants being enrolled in local schools and from underprivileged communities.
