Details:
The course lasts for six years which may commence during secondary school years. Studies in performance (jazz/rock, popular music), theory, jazz composition and arranging, theory, history of jazz, aural skills, basic conducting, music education. There is a course in musical theatre.
Institution Notes:
The Conservatory was founded in 1958 and consists of a general secondary school (with contemporary music focus) as well as offering the professional music and drama program. The emphasis is on a complete music education in the contemporary/jazz/popular music field. There is a preparatory course to prepare students for entry to the professional program. Language of instruction is Czech, though English language is available for foreign students.
