Institution Notes:
The University was established in 1962, thus being the oldest tertiary-level institution in East Kalimantan. The main campus is in Gunung Kelua, and the ethnomusicology program is given at the Samarinda campus. The Department of Ethnomusicology in the Faculty of Cultural Studies publishes a twice-yearly ‘Journal of Mebang: Study of Music Culture and Music Education’ containing the results of music research.
