Institution Notes:
This national Institution, (nowadays generally known as ISI Padang Panjang), can trace its history back to 1965, and gained its current name and status in 2010. There are departments of Karawitan (traditional music performance), dance, music, theatre, and cultural anthropology. The Institute is also involved with fostering and developing the Malay art culture. The post-graduate Art Creation program commence operation in 2019. Facilities include a well-equipped recording studio. This is the only College of the Arts in Sumatra.
