Institution Notes:
The Academy of Performing Arts was founded in 1945. It comprises faculties of music, dance, theatre, and film, television and multi-media. Although there is no training program for either instrumental or school teachers, after completion of the main degree students have opportunities to take the state examination to acquire teaching diplomas in music. Short term programs in performance are offered both for Czech and foreign students. Languages of instruction are Czech, English or German. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
