Institution Notes:
The Suzuki Association of the Americas is a coalition of teachers, parents, educators and those interested in making music education available to children. Founded in 1972, this is the American officially licensed non-profit arm of the International Academy of the Suzuki Method located in Matsumoto, Japan. It is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by a staff in Boulder. It supports, guides and promotes Suzuki education throughout the areas of North, Central and South America by organising teacher development programs, conferences and retreats, and a summer student workshop. The Association issues the quarterly American Suzuki Journal. There is a Teacher Registry program and a teacher location service. Some scholarships are available to assist teachers in attending long- and short-term training programs.
