Details:
The pre-university course lasts for six years which may commence during secondary school years. Studies in performance (jazz/rock, popular music), theory, jazz composition and arranging, theory, history of jazz, aural skills, basic conducting, music education.
Institution Notes:
The Conservatory can trace its history back to 1890. It is housed in a new building opened in 1996 and offers programs in music, dance and drama. Facilities include a 400-seat hall, recording studio, four dance studios and drama studios. The Conservatory organises preparatory courses to prepare for entry to the professional program. There is an attached secondary school. Language of instruction is Czech.
