Diploma in Music. Studies include performance (jazz piano, guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, trumpet, violin, voice), composition and arrangement, theory, aural skills, film scoring, sound engineering. Students completing this course may be eligible to continue their studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Institution Notes:
The SJA Music Institute, formerly known as Seoul Jazz Academy, was founded in 1995, aiming to foster a positive learning environment for students wishing to study contemporary music in preparation for a career in the music industry. In addition to the professional program the Academy offers shorter courses in contemporary performance and associated theory and music technology areas. Facilities include state-of-the-art audio and recording studios. The Institute has been a member of the Berklee International Network for Contemporary Music Education (with headquarters in Boston, USA) since 1998. This allows for student and faculty member exchanges between their schools.
