Institution Notes:
The Academy, founded in June 1949, is a university comprising a Faculty of Music and Dance, a Faculty of Theatre and a Faculty of Film and Television. There is an opera program with regular opera performances. Overseas students have access to short performance master courses. The Faculty organises an an annual guitar festival. Language of instruction is Slovak, but some classes may be given in English or German. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
