The Conservatory was founded in 1946. A pre-entry training program is offered to students wishing to enter the professional course. Facilities include two concert halls, one with a large concert organ, a sound laboratory, folklore room, a repair and adjustment facility for instruments and a museum. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
