Details:
Bachelor of Music. Studies include performance (Western, Arabic), composition, Arabic and Western music history, world music, aural skills, theory, music education. All students are required to take English for musicians.
Institution Notes:
The University was founded in 1986 and the College of Arts and Social Sciences was established in 1987. Apart from major studies in music and musicology the department aims to produce qualified teachers who are technically and academically capable of teaching music in public schools. There is a course for technicians in instrument making and maintenance (a luthier program).
