Diploma Specialist. A six-year pre-university program that may begin from age 15. Studies include performance, theory, composition, music history, choral and instrumental conducting, music education.
Institution Notes:
The Conservatory can trace its history back to 1881. it was founded in its present form in 1919 by Leos Janáček who was its first director. It comprises a full secondary school as well as Faculties of Music and Drama at the conservatorium. Students may enter the six-year program at age 15. Ensembles include symphony orchestra, symphonic band and choir. Language of instruction is Czech.
