Institution Notes:
The Hochschule can trace its history back to 1837. It gained its current name and status in 1971. Facilities include a state-of-the-art computer studio. There are institutes for Music Informatics and Musicology, Music Theatre, New Music, Music Journalism. The Hochschule organises an annual international Händel Academy and a symposium on baroque music. An active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen.
