Bachiller en Ciencias y Letras con Especialidad en Música (Bachelor of Science and Letters in Military Music). Studies in performance (band instruments), theory, music history and literature.
Institution Notes:
This co-educational school, founded in 1872, gained its current name and status in 1950. It trains musicians to serve in the military bands of Guatemala and is attached to the national Banda Marcial. Young male and female recruits may enter and complete secondary schooling with specialisation in music performance before moving into the professional degree program.
