Institution Notes:
This private non-profit Konservatorium was founded in 1878. Besides the basic study department there are also departments of early music and new music and composition, as well as a ballet school. Musicians with past association with the Konservatorium include Paul Hindemith, Hans von Bülow, Otto Klemperer and Clara Schumann. The Konservatorium organises a program of Music Education for Youth and Adults, elementary music training for young children, and a Pre-College Frankfurt program providing preparation for future studies at a Hochschule or Conservatory taken in co-operation with local high schools.
